A poker hand is created by 5 cards; each card has a suit and a number. The suit and the number determine the rank of the hand. There are ten different types of hands.
The High Card: The highest card in the hand
Pair: Two cards that have the same rank
Two Pair: Two pairs that have two different ranks
Three of a kind: Three cards that have the same rank
Straight: Five continuing cards. The Ace card can be considered as 1 or 14

Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank
Straight Flush: Five continuing cards that have the same suit
Royal Flush: The cards Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10 of the same suit The hand that you have should be ranked by the strongest. If some of the players have the same hand, compare the rank of the most valuable cards to determine who has the best hand.
There are different types of poker one being played in tournaments and the other in ring games.
Tournament- A person "buys in" for a seat. The object of the tournament is to win by the place you finish in.
Ring Games- A person "buys in" for a certain number of chips. The player can decide to buy out at any time and walk away with what you have cash wise.
The players in the game are each dealt with two cards. The players use there cards to make the best hand with the 5 community cards(deal by the dealer). The first three cards dealt are called the flop, the fourth is the turn, and the last one (5th one) is the river; once the game has begun two players are enforced to bet before seeing their cards. The bets they make are known as the blinds. The player to the left of the dealer posts the small blind, the person to the left of that one is in charge of the big blind. The big blind is a double of the small one. When does the betting begin? The betting begins before the flop, after the 4th card(turn), and after the fifth card(the river).
